Do I need a doctor’s referral for all radiology examinations? Most, but not all, imaging studies require a physician referral. Body composition exams do not require a referral.

Does Qld X-ray bulk bill?
We bulk bill outpatients who hold a Commonwealth Government issued Health Care Card or Pension Card; however, some services and interventional procedures will attract an out of pocket (or Gap) fee. When an out of pocket fee is applied, we appreciate payment on the day of the examination.
How long does an X-ray referral last?
To clarify, a GP referral is valid for 12 months, and a specialist referral is valid for three months. Under Medicare, referrals for imaging are valid for only seven days after the first imaging test. If your patient requires follow up imaging, a new referral will be requested.

Yes. An individual has a right to receive PHI about the individual maintained by a covered entity in a designated record set, such as a medical record.
How do you become a radiologist in Australia?
