The tracks look, feel, and thickness is identical to the two-ply counterpart, but if you look at the side of the track through the window, you can see the cords. A single-ply track will only have one row of cords while a two-ply track will have two rows.
Can you stud a 2 ply track?
If your doing a 2 ply track, use the studs for a 2 ply and use double backers and the smaller head. I studded a track with some older warthogs with a 7/8″ head with double backers and 1/2″ penetration, 2 doubles every second row. The other rows had the aforementioned single ply studs with 3/8″ penetration.

Are Ice Ripper tracks good?
Ice ripper is a great track for overall running. Compared to conventional studding (84-108 studs of normal length) the ice ripper does not have as much traction. In fact, one of the video shows did an on ice test and both starting and stopping the ice ripper took slightly longer at both.
Can you stud a Ice Ripper track?
It’s a single ply. You can still stud it though. Just gotta use studs for single ply. Won’t be warrantied though if you tear is up.
Can you stud a 1.6 Cobra track?
A 1.6 Cobra track takes a 1.625” Snowmobile stud. While the size looks too close, the Cobra track has nubs on the top of the lug that count as overall height. The effective lug height is actually 1.5” on this track.
